En Garde 254!!!!

To unwind from the intense flying and practice for the Oxbridge aero rowing race, 254 have come up with a novel way to take full advantage of the pool facilities. en garde!

Created by the founder brothers; TCP,Boris,Sav and freddie, the rules are simple... it involves a dual between 254 members across the width of the main pool (yes! we do have two!) where each member selects their choice of weapon (lilo) and commences battle in the middle of the pool.

Luc Bijjon was not quoted, and infact never said "zeese crazy English have reinvented the amazing sport of fencing, Fantastish!!"


The Brotherhood of "En Garde! have been recruiting through the ranks of 254 for new recruits in order to pass these fine athletes to Airlines throughout the world. The selection has, however created many losers utilising skills net (see final caption)

OAT have recently been approached by Oxford University to create the founding team in In another exclusive, AP254.com can reveal that OAT have recently been approached by Oxford University to create the founding team in the new crewroom rowing class. The first competitive event in this new class of coxless two man will take place at next years boat race which will see OAT pitted against the might of the Cambridge Aero Club.

It is feared that the release of this footage and the consequent hype caused will overshadow the grand opening of OATs new Goodyear facility on the 1st of June.

Double D and Gabbers did not say ""We are very excited with the birth of this new sport. We have finally found a sport that combines our loves of sitting down and of not excercising and we think that our new team has the potential to seize victory from the feared Cambridge Aero Club"

Anthony Petteford, Managing Director of OAT did not say, "Myself and the BBA Group are proud to be the official sponsors of this new sport and are planning to construct new Olympic size crew rooms in both Oxford and Goodyear for the expansion we anticipate over the next few years. It has yet to be decided what the official stance on uniform will be in these crew rooms, however we envisage that to maintain professionalism, uniform will be mandatory beyond the cafeteria finish line."

Due to the potential hostility between the teams, OAT has brought in its own highly trained military advisor in the form of Lieutenant Dusty "GI Joe" Rhoades. Dusty did not say "I am going to try my best not spend my weekends in the crew-rooms blowing s*** up and will have my Apache squadron on standby to protect this fine team during their stay in the US of A"

Ado NOT GUILTY!

Shocking accusations flew today when 254's Prankster Prince Adrian 'Ice Man' Ruaux Shocking accusations flew today when 254's Prankster Prince Adrian 'Ice Man' Ruaux was wrongly accused of playing a prank on none other than US President George W Bush's personal aeroplane Air Force One.

As pictured below, someone created an ellaborate prank video showing themselves climbing into a secure AFB and graffiting Mr Bush's 747. The video was all part of a publicity stunt by artist Marc Ecko to draw attention to freedom of speech. The stunt was staged in California and used a old 747 painted only to look like Air Force One. Unfortunately, when the video was released the prank backfired as all the world's news agencies instantly assumed AP254 must be behind the prank and in particular Ado. It was only several hours later when it was realised that the stunt was infact the work of Artist Ecko. Marc later said to ap254.com 'I was right darn disappointed that 254 got all ma publicity. I spent a long time planning that stunt ya' all hear. It took me over a week to paint that aeroplane and then all ma publicity went to that no good rootin tootin 254. Am as upset as a bear with a rattlesnake bite'.

Carter Airlines Recruits 254!

News reached OATC today that hi-style airline 'Captain Carter Airlines' have successfully recruited all of AP254 for their good looks and charm and of course superior piloting skills.

Captain Carter Airlines (CCA) based in East Grinstead is renown for employing only the most beautiful stewardesses (pictured below). Senior Training Captain Boris 'Adam' Carter said during a recent visit to OAT's fair weather base in Goodyear Arizona 'I was extremely impressed with the high calibre of class 254 and especially George who came with a 'glowing red hot' endorsement from AP'.

Anthony Petteford was not quoted as saying 'We are commited to working in partnership with premier airlines such as CCA as we hope we can dump another load of duffers on them. Is that tape recorder on? You pesky kids. I'll get you next time.'

Gruppen Captain Rainer Zufall (pictured below) of the German Airforce who has been observing 254s training said 'Jah himmel, das Englishers of 254 are such wunderbar pilots. They can be mein vingman anytime. Jah?'

Attention all Ladies in Scottsdale, CCA are keen to recruit new stewardesses for our new Arizona operation. Auditions will be held beside the pool at our Goodyear base each and everyday. Alternatively please meet with one of our recruitment specialists in Scottsdale every Saturday evening. Senior Training Captain Carter is keen to point out for his lovely girlfriend Catherine that he will NOT be attending any of these sessions and has delegated this responsibility to Deputy Chief Pilot Andrew 'innocent' Savell.

254 Career's Take Off

Today say the take off of 254's future careers as everyone completed their first flights satisfactorily. Special thanks to Dusty for managing a 'tech' situation but still managed to adjust the schedule to ensure that we all flew. Anthony Petteford said "This is a remarkable day that we have been working towards for over 12 months now and it is wonderful to see the first 41 Oxford students at a now operational Goodyear FWB". To celebrate this monentus day, OAT threw a party for 254, 253 and our German hosts whom have made us extremely welcome with their hospitality and friendliness. It's just a shame that we have to beat them in the forthcoming World Cup! (Editor - Steady on old chap).

253 Careers Take Off

Special thanks to Dusty for managing a ‘tech’ situation when a telephone stopped working. Anthony Petteford didn't say 'Recognising 253s special skills, we have deployed them to man our new Goodyear Call Centre managing all the press enquires about the Famous 254!'. Pictured below is 253 ready to recieve their first calls in the new OATC Goodyear Call Centre. 254 arrive in Goodyear!

AP254 have officially arrived on site at the Fair Weather Base in Goodyear, AZ!AP254 (and some other course) have officially arrived on site at the Fair Weather Base in Goodyear, AZ!

The initial impressions seem to be that Goodyear is awesome! The facilities are great, the staff are great and the weather is...you guessed it, great!

Denise has received a number of passports back today containing the US M1 Visa and would like to clarify a point. The visas have an expiry date of 27th August BUT this is the date when entry into the US expires and NOT the day when permission to remain in the US expires.

Denise has also liased with Ian Deabill in Flight Training and they have provided us with the list below as the things you will need to take to to Goodyear. This list may be updated so please check again before we travel.

Training Materials

  • Logbook
  • “Student Study Guide” - a ring binder containing CAA standards document 1, standards document 3, CAP413, Student Study Guides Vols 1,3,4 and CRM
  • Training Manual (burgundy coloured ring binder) - a new manual will be issued at Goodyear which will fully replace their current one, I advise to take the cover/dividers only to save weight.
  • Operations Manual - this should be taken, although one will be issued at Goodyear with information specific to there.

Uniform

  • Standard uniform (ties is still required for formal occasions)

General

  • 2 pairs of flip-flops (recommended by other courses)
  • Small cuddly toy/animal (needed for team building exercise)
  • Serious factor sun cream
  • Cap for flying
  • Tea bags as US brands aren't your English cup
  • All medications
  • Also refer to Goodyear Booklet for additional items
